Conference Objectives

This is the 3rd annual Drayer Physical Therapy Institute® National Conference. This four-day conference is a well-designed, in-depth learning experience that progresses through the body’s “kinetic chain” by focusing on the foot, ankle, knee, hip, lumbar spine, cervical spine, shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand.

Each day will proceed from general anatomy (cadaveric prosection) and mechanics through evaluation, surgical intervention, rehabilitation, functional progression and interactive research. Hands-on experience will be provided through breakout sessions each afternoon. Participants will have an opportunity to learn from and interact with highly respected experts in the field of physical therapy, orthopedic medicine and research.

At the conclusion of the conference, participants should be able to:

  • Review functional anatomy of the foot, ankle, knee, hip, lumbar spine, cervical spine, shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of general mechanics and pathomechanics of the foot, ankle, knee, hip, lumbar spine, cervical spine, shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand.
  • Understand specific injuries of the foot, ankle, knee, hip, lumbar spine, cervical spine, shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of surgical and non-surgical indications.
  • Apply knowledge of rehabilitation of the foot, ankle, knee, hip, lumbar spine, cervical spine, shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand.
  • Understand functional testing and progression.
  • Understand the interrelationships of the body’s “kinetic chain” and its application to rehabilitation.

Certificate of Completion

Each participant who attends the conference sessions and completes/signs course evaluations for attendance verification will be presented with a certificate of completion on Sunday, October 12, 2008.
